I was watching Celeb Rehab with Dr Drew the other day, yes I know, tragic. For anyone who hasn't heard of it, its a show on foxtel where they take celebrities and put them in rehab for drugs and/or alcohol and tape them for our entertainment. Its a very interesting show and it drives home to me how much like addicts foodaholics really are. Anyway, one of the carers on there said a great quote so I have stolen it.
'Some people are prepared to do whatever it takes and some people are prepared to do what they think it SHOULD take.'
How true is that?
Which one I am?
90% of the time I am the one who is prepared to do whatever it takes but I have to admit, now that my weight loss has slowed so much and I seem to have to do more and more to get less and less results, it makes me wonder. Does it mean I am going to have to run 10 k's a day to get to and stay at my goal weight? Would this be a bad thing? CAN I physically do it? Little doubts creep into my head. I look down at my stomach and think how huge it is and how fat I feel and then the negative self talk starts.
THEN I STOP MYSELF.
See how easy it can happen? You don't get anyone with a more positive outlook on this journey then me and the self doubt and negative talk still manages to creep in on a regular basis. I wonder if I will ever be free of it. I think negative self talk is more damaging then any macca's meal. (and they are pretty gross)
My job for this week is to celebrate myself, celebrate my life, celebrate my achievement and above all, celebrate that one day I WILL make it to my ideal weight for my body, its just going to take time. In the meantime, life is to be lived and I intend to make the most of it.
Joanne.

Not only a great quote but also a very true one! I believe that the negative self talk, bad habits, temptations etc will ALWAYS be there for those of us that have weight problems - it's what we do about them when they arise that makes the difference!
Remember glass half full - don't look at what you've got to lose but look at how far you've already come - there are so many positives there that will spur you on to succeed.
Weight loss may slow, but you are eating properly and have an active lifestyle. Don't worry about "ideal"--that is often far harsher than is obtainable. When I got out of the army, I was incredibly fit and worked out HOURS a day. I was still about 30 pounds over what my weight "should" have been. It is easy to fall into that "should" and be too hard on yourself. Good for your for your work.
I was VERY touched by your blog of your hubby. What a wonderful guy! Kudos to him as well. :)
Great Photos Jo.
